About this Job

The Juvenile Diabetes Cure Alliance (JDCA), a nonprofit advocacy organization that works to accelerate a cure for Type 1 Diabetes (T1D), seeks a part-time Research Associate. The position is a great fit for someone who is passionate about T1D and interested in leveraging their research and writing skills in a nonprofit environment. Working with the Research Manager and Editor, the part-time Research Associate will support JDCA content and research related communications. This position can also be a paid internship for an undergraduate or graduate student.

Position Specs

• Fully remote and open to people who are legally able to work in the US (the ideal candidate will reside in either the Central Standard Time or Eastern Standard Time zone)
• Part-time/hourly (approximately 16 hours per week)
• Compensation is commensurate with experience ($16-22/hour)

Responsibilities and Duties

• Support JDCA publications with research and copyediting of reports and articles
• Analyze data from government agencies and major T1D nonprofit organizations & extract key takeaways
• Communicate with high level T1D researchers on their progress in clinical trials

• Give presentations to JDCA staff and the CEO/Founder in meetings
• Provide your creative and unique perspective to different T1D topics
• Make influential connections in the T1D world

Qualifications

• Deep passion and personal connection to T1D
• Excellent and creative storyteller
• Familiarity with PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
• Experience with online research, writing, and content creation
• Ability to thrive in small work groups
• Professional demeanor
