Job Summary and Qualifications

Job Summary: The painter performs the general duties necessary to prepare and paint or cover interior and exterior surfaces. The painter will also have responsibilities for maintenance and servicing of hospital buildings and properties and will be assigned preventative maintenance and daily non-scheduled work requests.

• Repairs and maintains all painted and wallpapered surfaces
• Maintains inventory of supplies for painting and repairs
• Assists the facilities department in other required maintenance

What qualifications you will need:

Licensure/Certification/Registration: None required

Education: None required

Experience: 3-5 years experience in painting, plaster and lath repair, drywall repair and finishing. Preferably with hospital experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Good mechanical aptitude and excellent knowledge of painting techniques, working with a variety of wall coverings building materials and repair. Understanding of basic infection control procedures for health care facilities. Requires good verbal and written communication skills when dealing with a variety of internal and external people.
