Ouray's new Embroidery Operator is responsible for operating automated embroidery machines to embroider name, initials, logos, and/or decorative designs on garments, materials, and uniforms.


Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Read and thoroughly understand work orders to determine garment, design information, dates, style/color, location, threads, and any other notes.
  • Verify and confirm garment style, sizes, and quantities picked match work order prior to beginning production.
  • Thread/program embroidery machine for accurate production and identify thread changes, as needed.
  • Using AX, our operating system, review and confirm design/location to be produced matches art approval.
  • Properly scan work orders in and out accurately.
  • Use various types of embroidery hoops to hoop garments/caps as specified by work order.
  • Program machine to accurately and efficiently produce one product type including load/delete designs, stop/start/reverse, and program thread sequence/changes.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
  • Accurately and efficiently hoop one product type for production.
  • Must be technically savvy and comfortable working with computers, as well as have basic math skills.
  • Should have the ability to retain information, make decisions, and an aptitude to learn quickly.
