Provide OG instruction to individual students and/or small groups of studentsIdeal candidates will have a masters degree in education or, preferably, special education AND advanced training in Orton-Gillingham. Training through OGA is highly preferred. Must be able to teach all syllable types and decoding patterns.Comfort with morphology is ideal. Candidates must have demonstrated experience teaching structured literacy.Apply a multisensory, diagnostic, prescriptive approach to customized 1:1 instruction.Create focused, data-informed lesson plans specific to individual students needs.Progress monitoring and reporting skills are required.A solid understanding of language-based learning disabilities is strongly desired.Familiarity with conducting assessments, and writing IEP goals.
Ability to work independentlyPositive attitude and enthusiasm for supporting students with disabilitiesExcellent verbal and written communication skillsProfessional and personable demeanor and comfort interacting with parents/caregiversAny other duties assigned by the Principal or Director of Special Education5 hours of direct tutoring with 15 min/hour planning time.
