Job Purpose: Seamstress- Operate sewing machines or light industrial machines to manufacture safety apparel. Tactfully operating single, double-needle industrial sewing machines to put together sections or different layers into finely finished materials.
Qualifications: Pay close attention to detail in color comparisons and quality inspections, sit or stand for an extended period, ability to multitask, think critically, the ability to make sound decisions, and have a good understanding of production procedures and best practices.
Responsibilities:
Seamstress
- Operation of industrial sewing machines
- Ability to perform repetitive sewing of parts that require hand dexterity and concentration daily
- Understand patterns for sewing and cutting operations
- Understand and follow safety rules, directions, and company procedures
- Perform counting and inspecting of the product during the sewing process.
- Maintain quality by inspecting finished products.
- Observes sewing machine operation to detect defects in stitching or machine malfunction, and notifies mechanic
