Duties include, but are not limited to:

1. Opens exam rooms, ensuring that all the equipment and instruments are present and

calibrated.

2. Conducts preliminary diagnostic testing (pre-testing), including: case history, visual fields, auto refraction,

corneal topography and wavefront analysis, tonometry, retinal photography,

retinal scanning, refraction and instillation of dilating drops.

4. Alerts doctor to any abnormal or unusual findings present during the pretesting.

5. Enters all clinical data collected into the electronic medical record in real time.

Responsible for record management (verification that the required testing has been

completed and documented); all meaningful use documentation; entering all patient related

data relayed by the doctor; assisting in some procedures; participating in the discussion of the patients’ case;

and pre-appointing the next visit or visits.

6. Assists with clinical care standards, ensuring all special testing is completed.

7. Coordinates patient care with other doctors, and becomes the patient’s advocate, assuring

the patient of their availability in the cases of emergency.

13. Ensures pretesting area and the examination rooms are clean and neat, ready for the next

patient.

15. Performs other incidental and related duties as required and assigned

scheduled time and is seldom absent from work. Employee can be depended upon to

complete work in a timely, accurate, and thorough manner and is conscientious, about

assignments.

2. Communication and contact: The employee must communicates effectively both verbally

and in writing with superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the practice; able

to effectively provide training to patients.

3. Relationships with others: The employee works effectively and relates well with others

Including superiors, colleagues, and individuals inside and outside the Company.

4. Knowledge of computer technology, electronic health record documentation.

5. Knowledge of medical terminology used in documenting clinical exam findings.

Qualifications:

1. Must have at least one year’s experience as an ophthalmic technician

2. Must have computer skills and the ability to navigate the electronic health records system

3. Strong ability to multi-task with high degree of accuracy, attention to detail a must

4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

5. Superior verbal and written skills

6. Strong interpersonal skills essential

7. Able to transition and think operationally
