Day Shift, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Position Summary:

Reporting to the Assistant Director of Language Services, the Operations Specialist I is responsible for managing systematic department processes through coordination of division activities and data management. Primary responsibilities include, supporting the administrative tasks of the operations and receiving inbound contacts (calls, emails, faxes, etc.) from patients, patient contacts and physician offices requesting services within JHMI. The call center responsibilities will include coordinating appointment scheduling for interpretation services, serving in an on- call capacity and documenting patient encounters. This position will provide high quality customer service on every call and promote teamwork and call center success. Other responsibilities include analyzing data and reports to support the processes of the division and department and some project work.

Education:

Highschool degree required; Bachelor degree in Healthcare, Marketing, Management, Communications, Finance or related filed preferred.

Work Experience:

Two years of professional experience, with one year in customer service preferably in a healthcare setting

Knowledge/Skills:

  • Proven experience working with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel and other similar applications.
  • General understanding of database management
  • Understands HIPPA standards and protects confidential patient information
  • Medical terminology and anatomy proficiency
  • Foreign language proficiency preferred
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills required including the ability to interact with senior hospital management and external clients
  • Some experience with database usage and data analysis.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks/projects/initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent customer service skills and knowledge of CRM Principles
  • Ability to work within a multicultural environment
  • Possesses integrity and accountability in actions and behaviors based on values consistent with the expectations of organizational culture
