Position Title: Operations Manager
Position Term: 01 January 2023 to 31 December 2023
Position Salary: $40,560 annually; plus benefits
Position Description:
The Operations Manager is a full-time, salaried employee of the Shell Lake Arts
Center and reports to the Executive Director. The Operations Manager serves as the associate leader to the Executive Director, assisting in overseeing all areas of operations.

Job Responsibilities:

1. Program Development
The Operations Manager is responsible for nurturing community, school, and specialty programming intended to bring visibility to the organization and events to the Shell Lake Arts Center on a year-round basis.

● Recruit and contract suitable talent for the monthly Concerts with
Erika Series (September thru May) at the Quam Theatre and Arts
Center. Act as supervisor for all aspects of the programs.

● Oversee the establishment of a community theatre program within a growth framework. Function as producer of all productions.

● Create and nurture a sustainable volunteer program to align needs with abilities and talents

● Develop opportunities for student and community engagement which melds educational experiences and with learning and growth.

2. Recruitment
The Operations Manager is responsible for the creation and implementation of a plan that will lead to the successful recruitment of participants to programs and camps operated at the Center.

● Leads the creation of a recruiting plan for each SLAC Program.
● Efficiently and effectively fill SLAC Programs.
● Conduct regular follow-up with the Executive Director to determine the effectiveness of recruiting plans and implementation.

● Research and recommend new sources for active and passive program participants.

● Build networks to find possible participants.

3. Professional Leadership
The Operations Manager serves as the authority in the absence of the
Executive Director, supervising and leading projects as assigned or needed. Provides direction, authority, and coaching to all SLAC constituents, including but not limited to employees, parents, program participants, audience members, faculty, and volunteers. Performs other duties and responsibilities as needed and/or assigned by the Executive
Director.

● Works collaboratively with the Facilities Manager, Office Manager,
Publicity and Marketing Manager and Student Experience Manager to plan, schedule and communicate to all stakeholders events of the Arts Center, Lodges, and Erika Quam Memorial Theatre.

● Works Collaboratively with the Finance Manager, Resource
Development Manager, Kitchen Manager and Executive Director to forecast and plan budget on a yearly basis.

● Coordinates with Facility Manager, Kitchen Manager, and Office
Manager on all rental requests and contracts.

● Leads the bi-monthly effort to produce a stakeholder newsletter.

Qualifications
● BA in Arts Management, Performance or Education or equivalent work-related experience.
● Strong interpersonal skills required to coach and lead other Arts Center

Employees.
● Strong creative, strategic, analytical, and organizational skills.
● Advanced computer literacy in Google Suite, Adobe, word processing, database management,
● Commitment to working with shared leadership and in cross-functional teams.
● Ability to manage multiple projects at a time.
● Out-of-town, overnight travel, some nights and weekends are required.
● Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Evaluation
The Executive Director will evaluate the performance of the Operations
Manager on an semi- annual basis (May and October) to identify strengths and areas of growth. The focus of the evaluation process is to promote continual growth in performance and build capacity in the staff of the SLAC. The employee will develop professional goal(s) for the year and review progress on this goal(s) on a quarterly basis. Final review of the goal(s) will be included in the evaluation process.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $40,560.00 per year
