Provides supervision, guidance, and training for clerical staff in a probation & parole district
operation management of probationer’s data and filing records. Assists in communication with probationers, court, general public and other agencies. Supports the District in its mission of enhancing public safety and providing effective supervision to the adult offenders and for preparing comprehensive background reports for the courts and the Department of Corrections. Coordinates the provision of support services for the District office and the management of inmates’ data and preparation of reports and correspondence. Provides office/administrative support while demonstrating excellent customer service skills. Provides support to the
Probation & Parole staff by taking care of reports and correspondence, opening court cases and performing fiscal procurement and monthly reconciliation duties. Acts as a back-up for the Office Services Assistant as needed.

Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent. Considerable administrative experience. Working knowledge of bookkeeping and current administrative/office management techniques. Demonstrated skill in the use of office equipment, computers, and software, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Access, and Outlook) and the Internet including web based applications. Demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently in a fast pace, customer service driven environment. Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing when addressing a diverse population. Proven ability to evaluate processes and positively implement change.

Preferred Qualifications
Prefer post-secondary courses in office administration or training or experience in a related field. Prefer experience with an automated database other than MS Office. Prefer administrative experience in a criminal justice, court, or law office setting. Prefer administrative supervisory experience. Prefer familiarity with human resource functions.
