Job purpose

Our luxury construction company is looking for a skilled Bookkeeper to maintain our financial records, including purchases, sales, receipts and payments, as well assisting the business manager with various tasks.

The Bookkeeper's job duties include working closely with our Accountingteam to create and analyze financial reports and ensure legal requirements compliance, process accounts payable and receivable and manage invoices and tax payments. Our ideal candidate holds a Finance degree (preferably followed by accounting CPE courses) and is familiar with Quickbooks

Ultimately, the Bookkeeper’s responsibilities are to accurately record all day-to-day financial transactions of our company.

Duties and responsibilities

- Scanning and filing: subcontractor and vendor bills, receipts, insurance documents, employee paperwork

- Entering QuickBooks: subcontractor and vendor bills, receipts

- Reconcile accounts monthly (checking and credit cards)

- Daily review of bank checking account to match or add expenses, cleared payments, etc.

- Collect timesheets, submit payroll, enter payroll journal entry to QuickBooks

- Run weekly AP reports

- Cut checks weekly/monthly

- Create, Send and Track Lien Waivers, File once complete

- Enter final proposals into our construction management system

- Create change orders as needed

- Track change orders

- Pay general bills weekly/monthly/quarterly

- Request and maintain all subcontractor documents: W9, Insurance Certificates (General and WC), Business Licenses

- Annual 1099s

- Annual Audits

Qualifications

Below are the minimum qualifications required for this position:

Qualifications include:

  • Minimum of 5 years bookkeeping experience, preferably in the construction industry
  • Minimum of 3 years of QuickBooks Experience
  • Experience with lien waivers
  • Ability to multitask and effectively deal with stressful situations
  • Ability to follow and execute a structured daily workload
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred

Direct reports

The Bookkeeper reports directly to the Business Manager.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
