Description


The Tualatin Hills Park and Recreation District (THPRD) is looking for dependable, self-directed staff who are committed to delivering the best customer service possible at multiple Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation facilities. The Office Assistant position provides general administrative and clerical support and is the first point of customer contact with focus in creating a safe, welcoming and inclusive environment for our patrons, affiliates, and partners. The district also provides a bilingual pay incentive to staff who regularly use their bilingual or multilingual skills!

Successful candidates will have knowledge and experience in office management principles and applying this knowledge to work problems while creating a welcoming and inclusive environment. Candidates will also have a basic understanding of applicable software and computer operations; specifically, Office 365 platforms including Word, Excel, Teams, and the ability to learn proprietary patron registration software.

THPRD is hiring for multiple positions to support multiple facilities and hours may vary. Part-time employees are scheduled variable hours and may work less than 1,560 hours per year.

  • 6:45 AM - 12:15 PM, Monday - Friday
  • 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM, Monday - Friday
Key duties may include (but are not limited to):
  • Greeting the public, creating a positive experience for customers through professional and courteous behavior, providing information and assistance regarding schedules, program descriptions, and other general district information over the phone and in person
  • Answering the telephone and directing calls to appropriate personnel, as well as taking accurate messages
  • Performing general clerical support, such as data entry, preparing and/or proofreading a variety of forms, letters, flyers, promotional materials, etc. rough draft or detailed instruction generating prescribed reports, assisting the public with program enrollment by signing participants up for programs, receipting money, and performing related registration procedures
