PURPOSE

The Ocean Export Coordinator is responsible for arranging booking, pick up, documentation, pre-alert, billing and the closing of files as needed to support the Ocean Export Team. The Agent must also ensure and deliver excellent customer service and profitability while meeting or exceeding customer expectations.

PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Handle customer shipments from beginning to end
• Ensure billing is complete each month
• Research and resolve customer complaints on export sales, service and operational issues.
• Negotiate and monitor export rates and services to reduce operating costs and increase profitability.
• Compliance to the Toll Logistics Business Improvement Program Quality, Risk and Human Resource Reference Manuals and the Toll Logistics Workplace Standards and Codes of Practices for Forklift Trucks and Out of Service and Danger Tags and the Toll Logistics Employee Handbook

SKILLS ESSENTIAL TO THE JOB

Technical

• Windows Operating System
• MS Office Applications (Outlook, Word, Excel and Access)
• EDIE; AES export filing compliance

Business

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of two (2) years’ experience in logistics/freight forwarding industry
• Thorough understanding of Ocean Export compliance, regulations and procedures
• Thorough understanding of Ocean Export contracts preferred
• General Accounting principles
• Negotiation skills
• Legally authorized to work in the United States without company sponsorship
• Demonstrated critical thinking, using logic and reasoning to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and risks, and identifying alternative solutions or approaches
• Proven ability to handle confidential information with discretion
• Ability to multi-task and work independently
• Time management skills
