Founded in 1949, The Arc Middlesex County is one of the oldest and most respected organizations working on behalf of people with disabilities. Formed by parents of children with developmental and other disabilities, the agency continues to maintain close connections with families. The Board of Directors consists mainly of parents, guardians, and siblings of people with developmental disabilities. They monitor and direct the organization which is committed to supporting and serving people with developmental disabilities throughout their lifetime. The Arc Middlesex has maintained a stable funding and administrative structure, thereby allowing the agency to grow and meet the changing needs of the people we serve.

Responsibilities:

• Monitors overall health status of participants, including but not limited to: regular weighing, blood pressure, etc.
• Receives and records incoming medications following agency medication procedures; monitors prescriptions and over-the-counter medications; administers medications to participants as needed.
• Provide general nursing care/treatment to participants as required, including wound dressing and bandaging as well as other special procedures.
• Serve as medical liaison as necessary with family members, professionals and other individuals/organizations in the community when indicated.
• Schedules and accompanies participants to medical/dental appointments or other outings, when necessary.
• Provides direct support to residents as needed and role models such supports to DSP staff by assisting with daily living skills, communicating and interacting with residents, facilitating community inclusion, maintaining finances, developing behavioral supports, and demonstrating the importance of residents being active and contributing citizens in their neighborhoods and local community.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Experience:

• Current State Nursing License (Required)
• Minimum of two years experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities (Preferred)

Qualifications:

• Valid Non-Probationary NJ Driver's License
• COVID Vaccination Card (Booster required endless accommodation is needed)

Rate Increased as of January 2023!!!!

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $56,680.00 - $63,000.00 per year
