Summary: The Network Administrator II is responsible for assisting with analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and application components. This position performs a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. This position also provides information and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations. The Network Administrator II will assist the network team with ensuring the stability, integrity, and efficient operation of the in-house information systems that support core organizational functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist senior team members in the design, setup and configuration of Layer 2 and Layer 3 switched and routed network environments across multiple locations
• Assist in the design of multi-physical and virtual server environments including IP address schemes, DNS, Ether-Channeling, VLAN tagging/trunking, Load Balancing, etc.
• Maintain a thorough understanding of the best practices behind Internet Protocol and Routing and Switching technologies such as Internet OSPF, QOS, 802.1q VLANs, SMTP mail flow, SIP/H323 call flows, and other common TCP+UDP protocols
• Maintain a thorough understanding of LAN and WAN technologies including traditional 802.3 wired and 802.11 wireless Ethernet
• Assist senior team members in configuration and setup wired and wireless LANs including guest or BYOD and 802.1x secure access scenarios
• Assist senior team members in configuration and setup of firewall, routing and switching infrastructure
• Configuring and installing client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems
• Responding to inquiries from staff, administrators, service providers, site personnel and outside vendors and etc. to troubleshoot and provide technical assistance and support
• Troubleshooting malfunctions of network hardware and software applications, telephones and security systems to resolve operational issues and restore services
• Administer changes, improvements and problem remediation for network infrastructure
• Monitor overall communications performance across the enterprise (data and voice)
• Configure, deploy and troubleshoot network equipment, assisting with coordination, setup, maintenance and tear down as necessary
• Adhere to documented standard operating procedures and protocols
• Occasional travel to other work sites as needed
• Requires occasional odd and extended work hours and on call situations

Required Qualifications:

• Minimum of five (5+) years of experience in IT infrastructure

OR

Minimum of three (3+) years of experience in IT infrastructure AND an Associate’s degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, Engineering, or related field

• Minimum of two (2+) years of experience in network administration/engineering
• Familiarity and exposure to technical concepts in data, video, and voice services
• Knowledge of networking systems, protocols and operations
• Ability to travel to other work sites as needed
• Ability to work off-hours as needed

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems, or related field preferred
• At least five (5+) years of experience in network design, monitoring, troubleshooting and optimization on both the LAN and WAN
• Experience with any of the following is preferred: Microsoft Server Operating Systems, WAN optimization, remote access technologies, storage networking, wireless, and virtualization

• Experience with Cisco Unified Communications and Dell Networking infrastructure
• Previous Oil and Gas industry experience
