Job Title: National Account Representative/Manager

Position Classification: Salaried - Exempt

Job Summary: The National Account Manager is responsible for developing and maintaining relationships with national/major accounts. Grows business among existing clients and promotes the company to new clients in order to meet the organization's strategic business objectives.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of account management and business development process which includes; direct sales responsibilities, establishing relationships, technology introductions, quote preparations, pricing & margin management, sample preparation & presentations
  • Ensure timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to customers' needs and objectives by executing across multi-plant locations along with functional lines
  • Learn and master the details of all processes and technology in products manufactured by operations as well as customer products and processes
  • Identify customer needs, maintain technical standards by benchmarking trends, recommend new product lines by identifying opportunities and promoting the full line of products
  • Provide support, information, and guidance to customers and the manufacturing team while recommending new opportunities and service improvements that are within safety guidelines.
  • Act as point of contact and personally respond to the customer's queries and complaints promptly and professionally
  • Maintain a database of potential customers, prospect plans and business operations
  • Monitor competitor products, pricing, weakness and strengths to develop business strategy to achieve company goals.
  • Maintain and develop a solid working relationships with cross-functional teams
  • Lead the execution of special programs by closely monitoring projects and making necessary recommendations
  • Remain well versed in market trends, industry goals, customer service strategies and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, and establishing networks
  • Monitor all internal systems for accuracy and compliance while insuring the disciplines necessary to achieve Company goals, strategic plans and expectations


Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in business with a strong sales background in mattress or bedding manufacturer

Experience:

  • Experience in coordination of National Account program is preferred and knowledge of bedding merchandising is desired

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization in one-on-one, in small group situations, with a customers, clients or vendors.
  • Solid computer skills and data manipulation (Excel, Word, Microsoft Office, Power Point, JD Edwards)
  • Strong analytical, planning and forecasting skills. Must be able to quickly process large amounts of information and data
  • Strong leadership skills which include; integrity, independent action, originality, self-confidence, motivation, flexibility, proactive, sound business judgment, and determination
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality regarding sensitive information and/or records.
  • Ability to travel with overnight stays.
  • Attendance/Punctuality - Is consistently at work and on time.
  • Quality - Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; maintains a clean and organized work environment.
  • Quantity - Meets productivity standards; Completes work in timely manner; Strives to increase productivity.
  • Safety - Observes all safety procedures and policies; Reports potentially unsafe conditions to supervisor; Uses equipment and materials properly.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Able to work accurately from verbal and written instructions.
