Pay Grade/Pay Range: 57 Monthly (exempt): - Minimum - $ 36,088.00 Midpoint - $ 52,686.40

Department/Organization: 204903 - Mound State Park

Normal Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Job Summary: The Education Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, management and implementation of quality educational programs for students, families and adult audiences.

Additional Department Summary: The Education Outreach Coordinator is responsible for the development, management and implementation of quality educational programs for students, families, and adult audiences of Moundville Archaeological Park. This includes substantial public outreach and leading the organization of the four day Native American Festival.


Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or higher and at least two (2) years experience working in an educational setting.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications: Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge: Knowledge of Archaeological and contemporary Native American cultures.
Knowledge of personal computers and standard software programs (i.e. word processing, spreadsheet applications, etc.). Effective verbal and written communication skills. Effective organizational and time management skills.

Preferred Qualifications: Master’s degree or two years of graduate study in Museum Education, Native American Studies, Anthropology, History, or a related field; and at least 2 years working in an educational setting such as a museum, historic site, children’s museum, K-12 school or similar.

Demonstrated record of successful grant application writing.
