GENERAL OVERVIEW OF KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

The person occupying this clinical position will complete mental health assessments of people in crisis, provide interventions, make clinical decisions regarding immediate services needed, collaborate with other community agencies and resources, provide case management and referral services, provide appropriate documentation of all clinical activities and follow up services. The individual is to be supervised by the program supervisor/director.

PREREQUISITES & QUALIFICATIONS FOR THE POSITION

1. Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university with preference given to those who have major coursework in Counseling, Sociology, Human Services, Criminal Justice, Social Work, Psychology, or other related field preferred. In the absence of relevant major coursework, those with three or more years of experience with direct mental healthcare may be considered.

2. Bachelors Degree from an accredited or college or university required.

3. Have at least one year of mental health direct care experience with children and/or adults; crisis intervention experience preferred.

4. Valid FBI clearance, criminal history check and child abuse history clearance required.

ESSENTIAL & CORE FUNCTION

  • Completes initial assessments of people in a state of crisis with acute exacerbation of symptoms.
  • Provides crisis intervention, case management and follow up services.
  • Determines immediate service/care consumer requires.
  • Evaluates individual consumer needs, interests and response to treatment.

5. Recommends and makes appropriate referrals to other programs within and outside the Agency; completes all program documentation forms, including incident reports.

6. Attends all scheduled supervision sessions with immediate supervisor or designee.

7. Drives agency vehicle as necessary to transport clients in need of immediate crisis service.

8. Maintains a valid driver’s license in good standing, have a good driving record & remain insurable under agency automobile insurance policy.

9. Attends meetings and seminars as directed by supervisor.

10. Other duties as assigned.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30,000.00 - $32,000.00 per year
