Abacus Technology is seeking a Mission Systems Communications Manager oversee a team of technicians and engineers providing communications support for the Air Force Global Strike Command (AFGSC) at Kirtland AFB. This is a full-time position.
Responsibilities:
Oversee a team providing communications management, oversee the day-to-day health of the enterprise and customer infrastructure, with a focus on assuring stability, capacity and organizational productivity. Address and resolve complex technical problems relating to the installation, upgrade, and daily operation of VoIP network infrastructure. Interface with customers, vendors, and other technical staff to analyze business and technical requirements as well as customer network and systems infrastructure. Work closely with the network team to establish and deliver consistent technical direction, collect and analyze communications performance metrics, establish and enforce service level agreements. Assist in evaluating current and emerging network and VoIP technologies, conducts technical assessments, and makes recommendations to the management team and customers.
Qualifications:
5+ years’ experience in communications and network engineering. Must be Security+ CE certified. Experience with Cisco Unified Communications systems. Experience in project management. Experience supporting Air Force voice, telecommunications, and cable systems. Able to design, implement, and manage large complex data/voice and video network systems. Thorough understanding of network supporting software/hardware, LAN/WAN, and data communications technologies. Able to work in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, collaborative environment, with strong troubleshooting and analytical skills, strong critical thinking, complex problem solving, appropriate judgment, and decision-making skills. Strong interpersonal and customer service skills in addition to the ability to effectively manage and prioritize individual projects and tasks. Effective written and verbal communications skills. Able to provide technical guidance to management team and end users. Must have demonstrated ability to work independently, completing multiple and often competing tasks. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
