Stimson Lumber – Priest River, ID mill is looking to add a talented Millwright to their team. Millwrights are responsible for preventative and predictive maintenance in 3 major areas: machinist, mechanic and electrical. This position is anticipated to support swing shift and include weekends.

Detailed Description

Stimson is seeking an experienced Millwright with a “hands-on” approach and a champion of safety. Our Millwrights provide high quality results through a robust preventative maintenance program, excellent team work and focused execution. The ideal candidate is team-oriented, results driven, and possesses great problem-solving skills. You will execute your role within a group that embraces innovation,

continuous improvement and provides educational opportunities to continuously sharpen the skills of our team.

Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate safe work practices in all you do
  • Maintain, install, troubleshoot, repair and improve all systems, equipment and machinery in the mill
  • Cutting, welding, machinery installation, and project fabrication
  • Implement TPM/PM or preventative maintenance and troubleshooting programs for machinery and equipment
  • Maintenance reporting, documentation, inventory of parts and closing records
  • Conduct daily environmental compliance inspections for the plant
  • Evaluate and test equipment efficiency and effectiveness; recommend changes for improvement
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic troubleshooting and repair
  • Communicate with all departments to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and systems

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years industrial equipment maintenance experience
  • Proven experience or expertise in the following technical areas:
  • High quality steel/metal welding
  • Implementation of preventative maintenance programs for mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment systems
  • Utilization of power and maintenance tools and related machinery
  • Read and interpret blueprints and drawings
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing and installation of industrial equipment
  • Available for all shifts, including weekend work
  • Team player and highly self-motivated individual
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs., stand up to 10 hours a day, reach with hands and arms, stoop, squat, bend at the waist, kneel, climb stairs, and move equipment as needed
  • Must be comfortable in year-round outdoor temperatures, in loud conditions, with airborne particles (sawdust), and working around moving mechanical equipment
