Title: Fabricator or Apprentice Fabricator
Job Duties
1. Fabricates metal parts utilizing forming equipment, drill presses, iron workers, band saws, grinders, wire wheels, punch presses, shears, hook machines, press brakes, and forge. Marks and center punches various components to achieve accurate hole placement.

2. Sets up equipment based on written specification. Periodically checks stops and settings in order to ensure a consistently high quality of product. Conducts visual inspection of tumbled material for rust detection and overall quality before fabricating.

3. Lubricates tooling during fabrication to ensure quality and prolong tool life (i.e., benders, presses, punches, dies, taps, drill bits, etc.

4. Stores equipment properly and cleans up work area to ensure a safe, clean and organized environment.

5. Loads, operates and cleans tumbler in a manner that produces a consistently high-quality finish on the product and ensures safe operation of the equipment.

6. Assembles various components, making sure they meet product specifications.

7. Completes assignments from daily work schedule in a timely manner with minimal instruction. Reviews the fabrication work order for specifications on fabricating components for each product.

8. Transfers or moves in-process components to the next designated area in a neat and orderly manner.

9. Works as a team player in supporting the success of Enclume by filling in on other tasks and assignments as needed to ensure completion of work in a timely manner.

10. Supports and adheres to the policies, practices and philosophy of Enclume.

11. Maintains complete confidentiality on all Enclume business information including financial, new product, planning and personnel.

12. Follows all prescribed safety requirements and practices.

13. Performs assigned clean-up duties as requested.

14. Records and reports accurate fabrication times when each task is complete. Also reports fabrication errors or problems immediately.

15. Other duties as requested.

16. Previous experience a plus. Welding experience added value.

Work Conditions:

Subject to temperature variations due to weather and heat from forge.

Frequently dusty (masks and respirators provided).

Occasionally unpleasant smells (not noxious).

Occasional use of toxic solvents - following OSHA/WISHA requirements for safe use.

Frequently noisy (protective hearing devices provided in specified areas).

Physical Requirements:

Required to lift 50 lbs. from floor to waist.

May be asked to assist in lifting up to 100 lbs. from hip to chest.

Frequently carries 15-20 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs. 5 to 10 feet.

Educational Requirements:

Must be able to read, write and perform basic math (add, subtract, divide, multiply) at a standard high school level.

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Demonstrated mechanical aptitude.

General Requirements:

Previous work in metal fabrication a plus but not necessary

Welding experience also added value but not necessary.

Must be able to work under pressure, meet deadlines, work independently and handle multiple tasks.

Must be willing to comply with Enclume practices, policy and philosophy.

Able to communicate both verbally and in writing in an effective and pleasant manner.

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
