Mental Health Technician Job at Parkview Health
SUMMARY
This unit is located at Parkview Behavioral Health Hospital. This is a 49 total bed unit including 12 high acuity beds. This unit cares for patients once they are cleared to be able to manage psychiatric symptoms. Multiple psychiatric diagnosis and ages are handled in this unit.
Under the direction of a licensed Nurse and with respect for human dignity delivers a variety of high quality, Under the direction of a licensed Nurse and with respect for human dignity delivers a variety of high quality, basic patient care services that meet the needs and uniqueness of assigned patients. Is responsible for the delivery of quality care and service excellence; and adheres to the PH Standards of Behavior.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
Associates degree in a psych related field or must be a nursing student currently enrolled in an accredited program (ASN or BSN) and have completed first clinical experience.
LICENSURE
Must have current CPR at or above the Healthcare Provider level from the American Heart Association or be able to obtain during Parkview-provided orientation class.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
Prefer one year minimum of experience working in the patient care setting, preferably as a patient care giver. Must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of general computer skills and applications. Demonstrates ability to multi-task and work independently using critical thinking skills. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
