In an exciting, supportive, fast-paced environment, the Member Relations Specialist provides day-to-day support to the Membership Department and serves as the key point person at our Member Relations desk. The individual in this position will be responsible for delivering the highest quality customer service to all members and guests through professional greetings, account maintenance, and extensive knowledge of programs and services. This role will also manage the training, orientation and scheduling for the MRC part time staff and will have a key role in collaborating with the Marketing and Membership teams on member feedback, questions and needs. This a 35 hour, on-site in Newton role. The starting salary for this position is $35K - $38,280. The salary offered will ultimately be determined by the scope of the position, the candidate’s relevant experience, and internal equity.Some nights, evenings and weekend work required.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • welcoming all members and guests who enter the JCC in a friendly and professional manner
  • meeting the needs of members and guests (e.g. providing directions, information, etc.) in response to in person, phone, chat and email inquiries
  • serving as the liaison for all front desk communication
  • providing orientation and training to all new front desk staff
  • developing monthly schedules for the front desk staff
  • representing the JCC and providing information and positive experiences to prospective members
  • Uses membership database extensively to update enrollment information, contact information, and verify membership status. Contacts members regarding payments and updates credit card information in system, as required.
  • selling and recording purchases of membership, classes, etc.
  • Other duties, as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

· Brings high energy and enthusiasm to the job. Able to work in a fast paced environment. Exceptional interpersonal skills and commitment to providing quality customer service. Models absolute reliability, strong teamwork and problem solving skills. Able to work independently, set priorities and handle multiple tasks. Pays attention to detail and follows through on tasks.

· Ability to work shifts covering the operational hours of the center that will include some evenings and weekends.

· Excellent computer skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook and the ability to learn the JCC's CRM membership software. Knowledge of Salesforce and Slack are a plus. Good typing skills and accurate data entry are essential

· Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent

· JCC Greater Boston requires that new employees be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 at time of hire. The JCC will consider requests for medical or religious exemptions that do not pose undue hardship or a direct threat to health or safety.
