Position: Medical Technologist

Shift/Hours:

• Evening Shift: FT, 40 hrs/wk 2:00pm - 10:30pm
• Evening Shift: FT, 36 hrs/wk 2:00pm - 10:30pm
• Evening Shift: PT, 20 hrs/wk 2:00pm - 10:30pm
• Night Shift: FT, 36 hrs/wk, 10:00pm - 6:30 am
• Night Shift: FT, 40 hrs/wk 10:00pm - 6:30 am

Responsibilities:

• Medical Technologist is a highly skilled health professional who tests and analyzes blood, other body fluids, and tissue samples. Med Techs are responsible for operating and maintaining the equipment used to analyze specimens and ensuring that tests are completed in a correct and timely manner.
• The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at NorthShore provides inpatient, outpatient and reference lab services to the four NorthShore hospitals, Medical Group physicians' offices, private physician offices, and other healthcare facilities in the Chicago area. Nearly all laboratory tests are performed on-site, providing extensive anatomic, clinical and molecular pathology services. This allows us to expedite results for quicker treatment and better outcomes for patients. For tests not processed in our leading-edge facilities, we rely on trusted external laboratories such as Mayo Medical Laboratories. A global reference laboratory that operates within the Mayo Clinic's Department of Laboratory Medicine and Pathology, with which NorthShore has a longstanding relationship.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelor's degree in Medical Laboratory Tech Science required.
• Experience: Formal Medical Technologist/Medical Laboratory Scientist training OR experience working in a clinical setting for a lab as a MLT, MT, or MLS (Night shift is a generalist position - Must be familiar with blood bank, hematology & micro biology).
