At Meridian Health Partners, our Scribes work hand in hand with medical providers, accurately documenting the patient-provider encounters and gaining powerful career shaping experiences. The time spent as a Scribe provides a better understanding of all facets of the healthcare industry. Our Scribes extend care team bandwidth by allowing health care teams to work at top the of their skillsets, focusing on patient care. This position will give an individual a better understanding of the roles in medicine prior to medical school, PA school, or other administrative healthcare positions.

We are looking for a part time scribe to cover the Euless and Keller areas.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Include the following. Others may be assigned.

  • Accompany Physician to transcribe a history and physical exam, and document accurately the physician’s encounter with the patient and others present in an electronic medical record (EMR).
  • List all proper diagnoses and symptoms as well as follow up instructions and prescriptions as dictated by the physician
  • Transcribe patient orders including laboratory tests, radiology tests, medications, etc.
  • Provide advanced support to providers including, but not limited to, documenting phone calls, alerting the physician with labs/radiology reports are complete, etc.

Education / Experience:
Include minimum education, technical training, and/or experience preferred to perform the job.

Required:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Must have reliable transportation
  • Must have access to a personal laptop

Preferred:

  • Background in medical terminology, shadowing, volunteer experience

  • Possess the ability to fulfill any office activities normally expected in an office setting, to include, but not limited to: remaining seated for periods of time to perform computer based work, participating in filing activity, lifting and carrying office supplies (paper reams, mail, etc.)
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 20-25 pounds
  • Fine hand manipulation (keyboarding)
