Title: Medical Practice Patient Representative (Clerical Assistant) - NHMP Danbury Gastroenterology/Digestive Health - Danbury, CT - 40 Hours per week - 8 hour shifts: 8:45am - 5:15pm.
**This will be hybrid/remote position. Remote option after 90 days (approximately). Must have the ability to be onsite as needed & required by the Supervisor.
Summary:
Provides centralized answering services for all calls to the specialty practice of Danbury Gastroenterology and other associated locations. The position serves as a initial greeting to each caller on behalf of the practice providing the following services, not limited to scheduling appointments, fielding patient inquires, concerns and/or requests. The position will ensure all established protocols of Nuvance Health and Gastroenterology are met to provide the optimum patient experience with empathy, courtesy and professionalism.
Responsibilities:
1. Answers phones, routes calls, take messages, conveys information, and assures accurate communication.
2. Performs reception of customers and communicates pleasantly and effectively.
3. Ensures accuracy of patient's information, including demographics and insurance.
4. Registers, verifies and schedules patient appointments, testing, and referrals.
5. Reschedules cancelled, no show, tickler appointments.
6. Processes record requests, including the copying, billing, charging and recording.
7. Collects co-pays and reconciles moneys for deposit.
8. Obtains and coordinates record retrieval for new and established patients.
9. Completes audits as assigned.
10. Performs intake and processing of medical records and other documentation and correspondence via eFax.
11. Presents a professional appearance and image.
12. Fulfills all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
13. Performs other duties as assigned.

Required:
High School Diploma or GED, MS Outlook, Data Entry, Excellent Communication Skills (written and verbal).
Minimum Experience: six months
Desired: Practice Management System experience, Medical office experience, MS Excel.
Salary Range:
$15.3000 - $28.2200 Hourly (Based on years of relative experience)
