LTS is seeking a Full Time Medical Assistant(second shift) to join our teams supporting our 24/7 COVID-19 testing operations in Yuma, AZ.

We are contracted with the CDC to assist with increasing access to COVID-19 testing in the communities across the country that need it most. We are currently seeking motivated clinicians in the Yuma, AZ area who are focused on patient care and serving their community. These clinicians will work under the direction of LTS and various government agencies to deliver safe and effective COVID-19 testing for unaccompanied minors at U.S. Customs and Border Protection sites in the region.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

Successful candidates will demonstrate the ability to provide excellent patient care and attention to detail while working in an austere environment and maintaining compliance with government and LTS policies, procedures, professional standards, and program testing protocols. The position will require the highest level of patient care and collaboration while performing patient registration, patient intake, specimen collection and handling, patient education, all other duties as assigned.

Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Location(s): Yuma, AZ

Shift hours: 8:00 pm – 8:00 am

Compensation: Base pay rate of $20/hr. Additional $4.41 per hour to all hires for SCA health and welfare fringe benefits, plus 10% during shift differential.

Licensure, Certifications, Registrations:

  • Must possess one of the following minimum certifications or licenses in active and good standing to be considered:
    • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
    • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
    • Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA)
    • Phlebotomist
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Must submit to and pass background check(s) as mandated by LTS and the government.
  • Certification must be active while employed with LTS.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Actively practicing with minimum experience of 1 year.
  • Medical terminology Experience.
  • Ability to administer anterior nasal swabs for COVID-19 testing.
  • Ability to follow protocols for proper specimen handling and resulting of antigen and NAAT tests.
  • Ability to create a caring, compassionate relationship with the patients and families.
  • Ability to collaborate with the healthcare team while providing care.
  • Ability to adhere to testing protocols.
  • Ability to create patient registration forms and verify for accuracy.
  • Ability to adhere to safety and infection control protocols.
  • Expertise in handling sophisticated medical equipment.
  • Providing triage such as patient vital signs and documentation.
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts to include nights, weekends, holidays and on-call duty.
  • Excellent verbal and written skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Bilingual preferred but not required.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work outside for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform job duties while, sitting, standing, and walking for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to perform job duties while wearing personal protective equipment (PPE) including mask, face shield, gown, and gloves in both indoor and outdoor settings.
  • Ability to use lifting motion over and below waist from 15lbs-20 lbs. without assistance.
  • May be exposed to infectious diseases and occupational dangers such as needle pricks and outdoor inclement weather.
