The Seminole Tribe of Florida has a Family Medicine Outpatient Clinic that offers services for the Native American communities. Our highly skilled team of physicians, nurse practitioners and nurses provide comprehensive personalized health care for patients throughout the life spectrum through preventative care, early recognition of disease states, state of the art medical management of disease and collaboration with members of health staff, other tribal departments and the tribal community.

Note the Clinic is located on the Big Cypress Reservation at 31055 Josie Billie Highway, Clewiston, FL 33440. This is not in the main city of Clewiston, rather 45 minute drive south. It is about a 45 minute drive east of Immokalee. Coming from Weston it would be about a 55 minute drive to the west on I-75. We do provide a fuel stipend if you live more than 40 miles away.

Position Summary

The incumbent in this position is responsible for providing direct primary care services’ assistance within the Seminole Tribe of Florida’s Clinical Health Department. The individual takes vital signs; performs venipuncture and administers immunizations; assists ARNP/MD with procedures and performs in-house laboratory testing. The incumbent assists staff in coordinating and providing health related education services, prevention and outreach services to the Members of the Seminole Tribe of Florida. The incumbent maintains a smooth flow of patients into exam rooms, cleans rooms in between patients, and restocks rooms daily.

Qualifications / Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent GED is required. Graduation from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required. A minimum of one (1) year of experience working in a doctor’s office/facility, primary care clinics, office setting or similar work environment is preferred. Experience in adult and pediatric venipuncture is required. Knowledge of medical terminology is required. Incumbent must possess current Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification. Incumbent must possess a valid Florida Driver’s license. Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and organizational skills. Demonstrate excellent communication skills. Demonstrate proficiency utilizing Microsoft software packages. Ability to travel to all STOF’s Reservations and work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays.
