Medical Assistant Pool- (Part-Time, Day Shift) -

The Medical Assistant is assigned to perform patient-oriented procedures, tasks, and workflows from patient check-in to check-out at all LLUHC sites, within scope of education and training, and under the supervision of physician, supervisor, and/or licensed staff person. Exemplifies the Values and Mission of LLUHC. Performs other duties as needed.

High School Diploma or GED required. Graduate of a Credentialed or Nationally Recognized Medical Assistant (MA) program required for Front Office and Clinical Back Office. Minimum two years of clinical experience preferred. Electronic Medical Record (EMR) user preferred. Basic Life Support- Provider Course (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required. Phlebotomy certificate preferred. Valid/Current unrestricted California Drivers license required. Valid/Current auto insurance required.

Knowledge of outpatient clinic front office and back office practices and policies, Electronic Medical Record (EMR) user preferred. Able to keyboard up to 40 wpm. Able to read; write legibly; speak in English with professional quality; use computer, printer, and software programs necessary to the position. Operate/troubleshoot basic office/patient care equipment required for the position. Relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; collaborate and accept direction. Communicate effectively in English in person, in writing, and on the telephone; think critically; manage multiple assignments effectively; organize and prioritize workload; work well under pressure; problem solve; recall information with accuracy; pay close attention to detail; work independently with minimal supervision. Distinguish colors and smell as necessary for patient care; hear sufficiently for general conversation in person and on the telephone or other electronic mode. Identify and distinguish various sounds associated with the workplace and patient care; see adequately to read computer screens, medical records, and written documents necessary to the position; discern temperature variances through touch necessary for patient care.
