Our Company manufactures tools for electrical contractors, offering more than 100 products, including cable pullers, conduit benders, and knockout sets. We are based in Upstate Greenville, South Carolina, and the Company is proud of its national connections, as well as its customer service. We are currently looking for a Lead Mechanical Equipment Technician.

JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the repair and maintenance of electrical construction equipment including customer repairs, refurbishing for resale, and warranty work. Encompasses all aspects of electrical motors, hydraulics, and pneumatics in addition to fabrication and modification

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair a variety of industrial construction equipment
  • Previous experience with service, replacement and repair of hydraulic, pneumatic and mechanical devices is essential
  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical equipment including pumps, motors, compressors
  • Fabricate parts, weld, cut and install metalwork using basic to advanced techniques – MIG welding and plasma cutter
  • Practical knowledge of the function, operation, and maintenance of construction equipment
  • Technical training in equipment repair and operation or combination of technical training and experience
  • Able to read & interpret documentation such as drawings, manuals and technical bulletins
  • Use electrical tester to safely check power, fuses, breakers and switches
  • Keep inventory of equipment, tools and other items for the shop
  • Assist in maintaining equipment files including inventory, repair and maintenance, etc.
  • Analyze parts and supply stock to ensure an adequate and cost-effective inventory.
  • Monitor equipment and tool warranty programs to ensure warranty claims are forwarded for processing

ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITES

  • Physical exertion required, including but not limited to walking, standing, stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 pounds
  • Plan and organize individual work
  • Have and maintain proper hand tools
  • Operate maintenance shop equipment
  • Able to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing
  • Provide high quality control standards while maintaining high levels of equipment readiness
  • Install, service, and repair all equipment in a timely manner
  • Other duties and related responsibilities as required

SAFETY / HOUSEKEEPING

  • Always work in a safe manner and ensure co-workers do the same
  • Operate forklift and scissorlift in a safe manner as learned in forklift training course
  • Use all safety attire/equipment as needed to complete the job
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, including floor space, shelving and work stations
  • Report any defective tools or equipment to the Manager for repair or replacement
