MECHANICAL ENGINEER (non-degree option) Job at Formulated Solutions
PURPOSE:
Provide support for the current SME’s within the Engineering Department, so that the troubleshooting of equipment does not need to fall onto the same sets of hands each time. This is also intended to create a mentoring program to help develop the future SME’s for the company. Work is within a GMP manufacturing facility and all work performed will need to be documented on work orders.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Partner with the Engineering team SME’s to learn and develop an understanding of some very complex automated production equipment.
- Perform detailed equipment diagnosis for both electrical & mechanical issues within large complex manufacturing lines.
- Desire is to develop this role into a future SME for the site.
- Must have a deep understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, preferring packaging and filling equipment.
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing large complex production lines.
- Troubleshoot PLC systems and other control systems.
- Support the installation of new equipment and understand technical manuals, read blueprints and how to purchase replacement parts necessary to make equipment repairs.
- Supporting the SME team with preparing and execution of change controls and validations.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Experience fabricating and assembling production equipment.
- Understanding and experience working within a GMP manufacturing facility.
- Understand ladder logic and how to troubleshoot equipment.
- Customer focus and driven.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- The Ideal candidate will be either a graduate of an industrial apprenticeship program or 2-year technical school with at least 5 years industrial experience or have a minimum of 10 to 15yrs. experience as a maintenance electrician/mechanic in an industrial manufacturing facility dealing with packaging and filling equipment.
