Mechanical Assembler II (Operator II, Production) Job at Emcore

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work under close supervision
  • Perform moderately complex assembly and/or soldering tasks using tools such as jewelers, screwdrivers, tweezers,
  • cutters, soldering iron, run automated tests and simple production machines (for example, plasma cleaner, resistance welder, vibration systems, gross leak checks, vacuum chambers, AHRS test, component replacement equipment
  • Do cross checks and production verification (no formal inspection)
  • Able to rotate 2-3 positions up/down within the assembly line
  • Assignments may require working on more than one product
  • Be proficient i 25-50% of the tasks on the primary product line
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned
  • Day Shift - Monday through Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of experience with soldering or precision assembly
  • Good verbal communications and reading skills

Other Preferred Attributes or Qualifications (Not required):

  • Familiar with Word or Excel or have experience using a computer.

Minimum Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.

Minimum Experience:

  • 1 - 3 years of soldering or assembly experience, certification is a plus.
  • As a federal contractor, we are required to have successful candidates do a criminal background check and a multi-panel drug screening, prior to starting employment.
