PERCO Rentals is rental equipment company focused on delivering solutions for the pipeline and utility construction industries and beyond. Our fleet includes tracked crawler carriers, UTVs, light towers, generators, trailers and more. We served the entire U.S. offering rentals, sales, parts and service.

The Shop Mechanic II position is located in our Madison, GA office and will be responsible for working on various types of construction equipment including, but not limited to, Light Towers, Air Compressors, tracked crawler carriers, UTVs and more. In addition to mechanic duties, this individual will ensure that all shipping documents are completed on all equipment being delivered to or picked up from the facility. The qualified candidate for this position must be resourceful, dependable, reliable, and must be able to follow instructions. The Mechanic must have the ability to diagnose equipment problems correctly and be able to properly communicate the repairs to the Service Manager.

Key Job Functions

• Diagnose and repair hydraulic equipment, electrical systems, diesel, and gas engines
• Communicate with Service Manager on all repairs
• Maintain a clean, safe work area
• Check equipment in yard for needed repairs and preventative maintenance.
• Assist Rental Coordinator to ensure all equipment entering or leaving the yard has the proper documentation.
• Input Work Orders electronically.
• Understanding of schematics and diagrams
• Provide troubleshooting skills for complex problems
• Be able to wash equipment as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor

Preferred Skills and Qualifications

• High School Diploma of Equivalent
• Certified Diesel Mechanics preferred
• Current Driver’s License with good record
• Experience in repairing construction equipment
• Advanced mechanical aptitude
• Must own tools
• Customer service driven
• Attention to detail
• Initiative to learn and remain current on knowledge of equipment
• Attention to safety
• Good organization skills
• Teamwork and strong interpersonal skills
• Can operate various types of equipment
• Ability to frequently lift heavy items.
