Our New Holland, Pennsylvania facility is in search of a self-motivated person to fill the position of Materials Procurement. This position will be responsible for ordering materials needed for all phases of the production process for specified plant(s).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Assures all materials are in compliance with approved quality & functional specifications, negotiated contracts, and internal SOPs.
• Communicate major events or product/material related concerns to Corporate Purchasing.
• Communicate shortages that will impact production to Scheduler and Corporate Purchasing.
• Coordination of inbound logistics in cooperation with transportation management.
• Assist Corporate Purchasing Managers as required, including special projects and budget activities.
• Assists in inventory reconciliations, resolution of holds, coordinates authorized destruction of materials, and supports achieving invoiced credits.
• Tracks supplier quality and logistical performance.
• Participates in testing of new or improved materials, while guaranteeing compliance with SOPs of new materials and suppliers.
• Assists with reconciling purchasing invoices and approves freight costs within the limits of transportation management.
• Negotiates supply of materials as defined or approved by the Corporate Purchasing Managers.
• Responsible for communicating SAP planning and price inaccuracies to Corporate Purchasing. This includes price increases, rounding/planning value corrections, and lead or safety time optimizations. Price increases require approval and negotiation input from Corporate Purchasing.

Education/Experience

• A four-year college degree or equivalent in materials buying/purchasing.
• 3-5 years of procurement experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Competency in working in SAP ERP with strong knowledge of MRP and other materials management techniques.
• Strong spreadsheet management and analytical skills.
