Job Overview
The Master QC Technician is responsible for ensuring that video and audio files meet the precise creative vision of the content creator while meeting client specifications.
Specific Responsibilities

  • Perform File QCs at a Mastering level, using various playback programs and nonlinear editing systems.
  • QC master video material and identify any defects (digital hits, macro blocking, interlacing, etc.…), continuity or incomplete content with high scrutiny.
  • Listen and identify any audio dropouts, pops, distortions, etc.…
  • Deep knowledge of industry video and audio broadcast standards, including but not limited to UHD, IMF, SDR/HDR, etc.…
  • Complete detailed reports of quality control testing while noting any deficiencies with media.
  • Troubleshoot and correct reported issues with assets and collaborate with Mastering PMs, Production Managers, Mastering Compression Operators and Engineering as necessary.
  • Provide the technical knowledge for external client feedback.
  • Stay current with industry standards and software/hardware within the world of video. Subject Matter Expert for department's troubleshooting needs.
  • Aid in the development of Iyuno-SDI Media workflows, workflow change management updates and tutorials.
  • Perform additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of related technical experience
  • Subject to proficiency test related to digital media
  • Candidate should be interested in audio and have a “good ear”
  • Experience with video NLE suites required (i.e., Premiere, DaVinci, Resolve, etc...)
  • Experience with GreyMeta product preferred
  • Experience with video transcode soft/hardware preferred
  • In depth knowledge of audio/video formats
  • In depth knowledge of frame rates
  • In depth knowledge of aspect ratio’s
  • In depth knowledge of SMPTE timecode
  • Have an aptitude for analytic problem solving
  • Demonstrate the ability to focus on details ensuring an error free deliverable
