POSITION OVERVIEW

The First Baptist Church of Glenarden (FBCG) has a need for a dynamic full-time marketing & communications coordinator. The coordinator provides support to the Director of Marketing & Communications and to the department. The department is responsible for maintaining FBCG ministry brand and communicating the work of FBCG to multiple audiences online and in print. The coordinator helps support events, publications, communications, and marketing.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide administrative support to the Director of Communications and Communications Department.
  • Creating short video clips of services and events.
  • Organize digital files and prepare spreadsheet databases
  • Assist with writing and developing content and various marketing initiatives
  • Assist with planning and carrying out event coordination for media-related activities
  • Monitor and review social media assets and assist with approvals
  • Assist with maintaining media press kit
  • Assist with the creation of online and print materials, including but not limited to digital advertisements, social media graphics and more
  • Serve as liaison between the Communications Department and the Photography Ministry.
  • Support media and public relations strategies, including media check-in
  • Support major and special events by providing app support
  • Track and ensure all department invoices are processed and paid, including credit card reconciliation.
  • Respond to all inquiries on from FBCG website in timely manner
  • Aid in crisis communications efforts as needed


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be saved, have a servant’s heart, and be a member, in good standing or willing to connect with FBCG.
  • Must be able to submit to authorities as defined by the Pastor.
  • Must possess a gracious, Christ-like demeanor in demanding situations.
  • Must have an understanding and appreciation for the ministry and the mission of FBCG.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferably in marketing, communications, public relations, or digital marketing required.
  • Minimum one-two (1-2) years communications or marketing experience.
  • Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Publisher.
  • Experience using Asana, Jira or task management software a plus.
  • Experience with Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Premiere and InDesign a plus.
  • Experience with social-media, WordPress or web content management a plus.
  • Must be able to meet deadlines.
  • Must be team-oriented and willing to work on multiple tasks.
  • Ability to create and edit written materials.
  • Must be customer service oriented and consistently provide outstanding quality customer relations.
  • Must have the ability to work independently, while adhering to policies and procedures.
  • Must possess excellent time management skills, follow-up and follow-through skills, with an eye for detail.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, exercise mature judgment and good decision-making ability.
  • Ability to be extremely flexible in an environment that is subject to many “spur of the moment” changes.
