POSITION SUMMARY

Leadership

• Work closely with the Facility Manager to ensure high quality operations
• Support the activities of the Facilities Management staff, other personnel or contractors to ensure effective and efficient cleaning and service / special event support
• Provide department leadership to ensure all operations are functioning with integrity and in the most cost efficient and compliant manner
• Stay informed and knowledgeable about state and local laws, regulations, and industry news as required for the position

Quality & Financial

• Ensure facilities floors, corridors, and stairs are swept, mopped and waxed
• Develop and support execution of procedures for maintaining cleaning and paper supplies stocks, emptying waste baskets and collection and dispose of rubbish and recycling
• Ensure the cleanliness and sanitizing of bathrooms, mirrors, and other surfaces to prepare facilities for occupancy and to maintain at an acceptable level during operation
• Supervise movement of furniture and arrange set-up/break-down of chairs, tables and other equipment as necessary
• Develop and support execution of procedures for performing seasonal tasks as needed
• Work with all other departments on regularly scheduled and / or as needed deep cleaning needs.

People & Development

• Work closely with associates to ensure that all policies and procedures are understood and followed
• Provide aid to employees through course correction, coaching and training, and task assignment
• Participate in the recruiting, selection, training, development and success of employees
• Perform daily observations of staff, providing both positive and constructive feedback
• Must be able to work as a team member with other personnel including staff, contractors.
• Assist peers and new hires in learning about the business and equipment to enhance understanding
• Maintain high level of morale and enthusiasm to assist the team

• Comply with all safety procedures and requirements
• Report any material and/or facility conditions that may affect safety and/or operations

REQUIREMENTS

• High school diploma/GED required or equivalent military experience
• Minimum one year custodial experience required
• Basic knowledge of housekeeping tools and equipment required
• Familiarity with chemical safety
• Female preferred due to cleaning of female locker room daily

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS

• Conditions will vary from indoor, outdoor, and field environments in all weather conditions
• Ability to consistently stand/walk for up to 8 hours per day, frequent & repeated bending, twisting, reaching, kneeling
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to twenty (20) pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, and occasionally lift over fifty (50+) pounds
• Ability to work a fully flexible schedule including nights and weekends
• Works with chemical cleaning agents daily.
