Position Summary:

This is a six-month contract position. The Manufacturing Technologist at Tessera will be performing High Throughput production for DNA plasmid production. This process is designed to build DNA plasmids with sequences designed by our scientific staff to support internal R &D projects. The ideal candidate will have hands on experience in molecular biology and manufacturing sciences, ideally with DNA plasmid manufacturing. The Tessera process is a multi-step process assembling unique DNA sequence oligonucleotides to a plasmid configuration, transforming the plasmid into a bacterial strain, cloning, expansion, and final product delivery of characterized plasmid product to our internal customers. The ideal candidate will have experience with DNA plasmid production, use of automation and understand controlled and high throughput manufacturing. We are searching for a driven, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual who is comfortable multitasking and working independently on various aspects of the platform. • Perform complex DNA plasmid manufacturing under supervision
• Participate in complex inspections, maintenance and troubleshooting to support manufacturing and testing processes and equipment
• Support Daily, Weekly, Monthly, and Quarterly PM checks of Equipment as per the SOPs
• Maintain and adhere to safe work habits and all applicable safety procedures and guidelines
• Prepares solutions, aseptic filling, and labeling of vials under sterile and non-sterile conditions, routine solution and filtration, vial and component preparation and sterilization
• Prepares equipment and components for sterilization and Lyophilization
• Assists in the formulation and dispensing of product in final formulation for delivery to customers
• Sanitizes production areas and prepare equipment for production
• Complete and maintain documentation related to assigned work, including Electronic Notebooks (ELN), logbooks, and other associated documentation
• Adhere to written procedures and verbal instructions in operating production equipment and performing processing steps, accurately complete appropriate production documentation
• Identify, escalate, and document events that deviate from normal operation; participate as needed in investigations
• Maintain compliance, cleanliness, and orderliness of operational areas per appropriate SOPs
• Review and revise pertinent SOPs and production batch records as required

Basic Qualifications:

• BS/BA degree in biological or chemistry sciences (or related field) with 2-4 years of experience or an Associates Degree with 4-6 years of experience is required
• Proficient execution and knowledge of DNA plasmid manufacturing and/or molecular biology techniques
