RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

Project Management – 40%

  • Plan, conduct and implement assignments involving several high impact, high complexity manufacturing process projects
  • Interact with marketing, accounting, purchasing, manufacturing, product design and suppliers/customers
  • Investigate and find resolution of specific processing problems for assigned projects
  • Support multiple individual and team projects while handling multiple tasks to successfully meet all deadlines.
  • Function as project leader when assigned
  • Plan, organize, and execute new projects related to higher yields, increased uptime, and improved cycle times
  • Document and communicate project status, changes, and other information to managers, engineers, and supervisors

Production Support – 30%

  • Work on miscellaneous manufacturing process problems dealing with production down time, loss of or low efficiency, or quality deviations
  • Continuously improve product quality, increase efficiency, and reduce production down time

Technical Recommendations -20%

  • Identify technological sources of information and utilize that information to achieve goals/objectives
  • Formulate and recommend technical direction
  • Participate in productivity improvement investigations
  • Identify root causes of product defects and low productivity, and implement solutions to prevent reoccurrence
  • Conduct thorough risk analysis
  • Provide constructive feedback in design reviews
  • Identify major “engineering process” improvement opportunities
  • Provide recommendations on manufacturing systems

Communication – 10%

  • Communicate technical concepts and information in non-technical, more easily understandable terms
  • Convey information clearly and effectively through both formal and informal documents
  • Create an atmosphere in which timely and high quality information flows smoothly between oneself and others; encourage the open expression of ideas and opinions

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent discipline

SKILLS/ABILITIES: Typical skills and abilities may include the following:

  • 5 - 8 years of relevant experience. Experience should include exposure to multiple engineering disciplines.
  • Demonstrated ability in implementing automation systems
  • Demonstrated ability for trouble shooting of production processes and equipment
  • Comfortable with being a hands-on engineer on all aspects of the manufacturing process and equipment
  • Capable of purchasing and installing new equipment
  • Solid understanding of industrial and electrical control system
  • Demonstrated ability in working with and improving metal forming, machining and Heat treat processes
  • Metallurgical experience is a definite plus
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD, Solid works, developing electrical diagrams and ladder logic programming experience
  • High volume manufacturing and automation experience preferred
  • Understanding of the design of manufacturing equipment or other machine tools preferred
  • Solid understanding of mechanical systems and manufacturing processes
  • Experience leading Lean manufacturing efforts
  • Able to identify alternative methods to check and verify solutions
  • Innovative thinker with excellent problem solving skills
  • Demonstrated decision making and effective team skills, able to work independently or collaboratively as needed
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills
  • Able to motivate others and create a climate in which others want to do their best
  • Flexible and comfortable with change management concepts
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills; able to present highly technical information to diverse audiences, some without technical knowledge
  • Capable of handling high workloads in a dynamic work environment
  • Commitment to continuous improvement in processes and technical knowledge and uses performance data for improvement in key areas
  • Must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds
  • Strong computer skills, including Word, Excel, MS Project and Outlook

AVAILABILITY:

  • Available to work on site as required
  • Day Shift: Monday - Friday 7:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
  • Additional overtime may be necessary to support business needs, reasonable notice will be provided
