Develops manufacturing methods utilizing knowledge of part designs and materials, fabrication processes, assembly methods, tooling & production equipment capabilities, and quality control requirements. Details the sequence of manufacturing operations and generates required Engineering documentation (Process Data Sheets and Work Instructions).

Reviews/processes customer purchase orders, enters Sales Orders, coordinates contract review meetings, and works to resolve any issues discovered.

Enters jobs and generates travelers specifying the method of manufacturing, detailed subcontractor requirements and quality control provisions.

Analyzes manufacturing operations, troubleshoots process problems related to production equipment, tooling, manufacturing operations, and materials and specifies improvement opportunities. Revises methods and Engineering documentation based on studies of actual process conditions, improvements to manufacturing techniques, and/or by request of department managers. Modifies manufacturing processes based on customer part revisions and updates all documentation, as required.

Creates controlled files of production part prints and manufacturing documentation including but not limited to process data sheets, work instructions and quality paperwork and distributes internally as required.

Updates files upon receipt of document revisions. Reviews, controls, and distributes all Lyons quality system documents, including policies, procedures, forms, and work instructions as well as all customer supplied quality system documents and specifications.

Confers with management regarding manufacturing capabilities and other considerations related to production processes. Prepares detailed estimates in support of customer Requests for Quotation including direct labor, raw material, component part, and subcontract service cost calculations. Processes customer Purchase Orders and enters Work Orders, including the resolution of any issues with the customer discovered at the time of Contract Review.
