Bard Manufacturing Company, Inc., a leading manufacturer of commercial heating and air conditioning systems, has an opening for a Manufacturing Engineer at our facility in Bryan, OH.

Scope and Responsibilities:
The Manufacturing Engineer will help the company to produce high-quality goods at the most cost-efficient price. Will monitor different aspects of product development, making production procedure changes to minimize wastes and improve productivity. Plans utilization of facilities, equipment, materials, and personnel. Studies product and its requirements, using statistical methods for decision making when designing manufacturing systems.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes statistical information and product specifications to determine production standards.
  • Recommend methods for improving processes, establishing labor utilization standards to promote efficient use of staff and facility.
  • Define sequence of operations to fabricate and assemble parts or products, promoting efficient utilization of the resources.
  • Performs the required time studies throughout the plant and maintains the labor standards.
  • Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency using AutoCAD.
  • Creates and maintains line write ups for finished products.
  • Create new fixtures and devices to ensure an efficient and safe environment for our operators using Solid Works.
  • Perform activities needed to fulfill OSHA PSM regulations related to A2L implementation.
  • Review production schedules, engineering specifications, orders, and related information to obtain knowledge of manufacturing methods, procedures, and activities.
  • Reviews and coordinates activities needed to build pilot units.
  • Responsible for purchasing new tooling, monitoring procedures for it, and scheduling local machine shops to repair the existing assets.
  • Provides a safe working environment for all projects and abides by all safety rules.
  • Responsible for training employees on new equipment or processes.
  • Follow ISO procedures established, create all documents needed to maintain this certification.
  • Create a plan to eliminate equipment obsolescence.
  • Establish Preventative Maintenance routines to ensure equipment reliability.
  • Provide tools required to perform a successful operation.
  • Execute safety and ergonomics projects.
  • Create Capital request documents and execute the projects delivering documentation for proper operation.
  • Establishes good communication between departments, especially manufacturing, Quality, and Engineering.
  • Support with tasks related to the maintenance administration.
  • Work with suppliers to obtain proposals and create purchase requisitions.

Required Experience:

  • Minimum Associates degree in Manufacturing Engineer; or 3 years related experience or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to work with SolidWorks and AutoCAD.
  • Ability to execute root cause analysis for problem solving using statistic tools.
  • Ability to design and implement assembly fixtures, with a clear understanding of mechanical and pneumatic blueprints
  • Ability to understand the operational requirements of Bard products implementing processes to ensure critical characteristics.
  • Lean Manufacturing knowledge with Green Belt certification
  • Ability to conduct a time and motion study
  • TPM Knowledge
  • Self-motivated team member working under low supervision dedicated to continual improvement of Quality, Safety, and Productivity.
