This is an incredible opportunity for a Manager, Software Engineering (Cash) to join Apex's Engineering team in Portland, Oregon. As a Manager of Software Engineering you will work closely with other managers, tech leads, and and business teams building products and services for customers of Apex Clearing's suite of financial back office solutions.

What you'll do all day:

• Deliver results - Lead a high-performing Engineering team. Guide product development projects using modern, lightweight tools and methodologies. Work with leaders across the business to prioritize and deliver products and services for Apex customers. Collaborate with those around you to produce lean, pragmatic solutions in a predictable and transparent way.
• Grow the team - Apex is growing our Software Engineering presence, especially in Portland. You will help us identify, recruit, interview and hire new team members to help grow Apex's Engineering teams.

The skills you'll need to succeed:

• 5+ years of experience as a software developer or similar job roles
• 1+ years of experience as an engineering manager or team lead
• Strong people and team building skills
• Strong sense of personal accountability
• BA, BS, MS, PhD in Computer Science, Engineering or related technology field
• Deep experience in at least one modern language (Java, Go, Pythonetc.)
• Ability to learn new technologies (languages, tools, frameworks) quickly
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Experience gathering and translating business and technical requirements
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform / Amazon Web Services
• Experience with Kubernetes and/or Docker
• Experience with Apache Kafka, AWS Kinesis, or Google Pub/Sub
• Financial services background is a plus
