Feeling like you need a change in jobs? Are you looking for something challenging that allows you to work outside? If so, we may have a great opportunity for you. The Village is seeking a new Maintenance Worker in Public Works.
Maintenance Workers perform a wide range of tasks in a typical week. Examples include repairing water mains, fixing streets, plowing snow and servicing equipment. The tasks change almost daily and you will not be bored.
Prior Public Works experience is nice, but not necessary. What is necessary is having a passion for what you do and a desire to learn new tasks. In the past, ideal candidates have been landscape professionals, construction workers, and mechanics.
Candidates should have a high school diploma/equivalent, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to respond to the occasional after-hours call out. Preference will be given to applicants with a commercial driver’s license and/or Illinois Class D water operator certification.
The position is full-time with health insurance, paid vacation time, and a pension plan. The anticipated annual pay is $60,000 +/- depending up on job experience. Interested candidates are encouraged to send their resume, and cover letter to: Heather McFarland, Assistant to the Village
