Clayton Homes is actively searching for a Maintenance/Tool Crib Team Member to join Clayton Sulphur Springs Facility in Texas.



Position Description:
The Maintenance/Tool Crib position is essential for keeping the various systems, tools, and machinery operational and in safe working order. The position requires a combination of assisting the tool crib with various maintenance requests and walking the plant to address concerns on the floor.

Responsibilities:

  • Repair Senco tools, clean air compressor filters, and repair electric cords and hoses
  • Change router bits and repair tools as necessary
  • Read and construct projects from plans
  • Work the crib window to manage supply distribution
  • Must be available to work after-hours as necessary for emergency situations (ex: mechanical failures)
  • Machining fabrication materials and components
  • Fitting, setting, and installing fabricated structures
  • Cutting and welding with a variety of processes
  • Metal forming, bending, and finishing

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:

  • Mechanically inclined – familiar with equipment and tools
  • Electrical experience – comfortable working with electrical circuits
  • Experience working with computers
  • Must have excellent people skills
  • Ability to create and follow a routine maintenance schedule
  • Experience with inventory control
  • Fabrication - The ability to construct a variety of project from product concepts and plans


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Work may require stooping, bending, crouching, crawling, pushing, and / or pulling.
  • Must be able to communicate with others via phone, email, and in person. Must be able to exchange accurate information with others.
  • Work environment is not temperature controlled and may result in exposure to extreme temperatures.
  • Work primarily involves sitting / standing, up to 4 hours at a time.
