SUMMARY
Maintains and repairs building equipment and facilities. Following direction, operates building systems and effects repairs. Accurately records and reports work performed and tasks completed. The ideal candidate for this opportunity must be detail oriented problem solver who is able to communicate well, juggle multiple priorities and provide exemplary customer service to both external customers (guests/owners) and internal customers (other associates)
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Major areas of responsibility/ management include, but are not limited to:
- Provide routine preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance service including but not limited to mechanical, electrical, and plumbing.
- Maintain communication with Supervisor, maintenance team members, or any other associates regarding projects.
- Review, update, and complete multiple work orders as assigned. Complete work orders and equipment inspections using computerized maintenance management system.
- Thrive on helping, assisting, and supporting everyone around you including associates, guests and visitors.
- Working across temperature zones that may include cold and/or hot environments for extended periods.
- Adhere to all standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Within first 60 days, demonstrate proficiency with working well with team members as well as independently.
- Respond to guest room calls and assists guests with room issues.
- Train to become proficient in specific area (electrical, plumbing painting, carpentry, etc.) to become a specialist in a skill is a prerequisite for promotion to Maintenance Technician II.
- Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of one-year job related maintenance experience or engineering (mechanical, electrical & plumbing), janitorial or construction industry.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to effectively work with a variety of people and departments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and speak, read, write and understand English
- Must be flexible to work various shifts including weekends and holidays
PREFERRED
- Luxury hotel experience strongly preferred
- Certification from Technical Maintenance Trade School
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and various property specific software applications, HotSOS, and Energy Management Systems software
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Position requires walking and giving direction most of the working day; must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to 6 hours in length. Must be able to exert well-paced ability to maneuver between functions occurring simultaneously. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. on a regular and continuing basis. Must be able to push and pull carts and equipment weighing up to 250 lbs. occasionally. Must be able to walk, stand, sit, bend, stoop, squat and stretch to fulfill tasks. Must have finger dexterity to be able to operate office equipment.
