Job Summary
The maintenance shop supervisor is responsible for maintaining the machinery, equipment, trailers and trucks to ensure they can be operated in a safe and efficient manner. Some travel to customer locations is possible.

Essential Functions

• Inspects brakes, suspensions, drive trains, electrical components, and engines, diagnosing problems, identifying issues, and suggesting solutions to correct issues discovered.
• Repair, modify, assemble, and maintain equipment related to operations such as industrial balers, trailers, forklifts, skid steers, tractors, compactors, etc.
• Proactively recommend and follow scheduled maintenance inspections and preventative maintenance plans.
• Submit invoices through the Company's proprietary system and ensure accurate payments are submitted timely.
• Supervise projects from begining to completion in the absence of the Equipment Manager.
• Comply with OSHA and MARCK Recycling & Waste safety and health rules.
• May perform other duties as assigned.

Work Environment

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to the elements, fumes, varying degrees of hot or cold temperatures, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is frequently exposed to a variety of extreme conditions. The noise level in the work environment can be loud.

Physical Demands

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling, and climbing all day. The employee must frequently lift items over 50 pounds and move items up to 150 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma.
• Two years of general maintenance technician experience.
• Two years of previous vehicle maintenance experience.

Preferred Education and Experience

• Technical training.
• Experience with acetylene and electric arc welding.
