POSITION OVERVIEW
Performs basic equipment service and general labor work, and assists craftsmen in maintenance, repair and inspections processes of all mine equipment plus general housekeeping, building maintenance and clean-up work of work areas, parts and equipment.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Must demonstrate the ability to operate hand and power tools, measuring tools, shop support equipment, i.e., pickup, forklift, clean-up loader, sweeper, overhead crane, boom truck
- Power wash equipment, cable mule and torch
- Ability to work well with others and follow direction and instruction with direct supervision and minimal supervision
- Demonstrate safe work habits, and the ability and willingness to learn
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Ability to follow instruction and direction with minimal supervision.
- Prior experience working on automotive and/or heavy equipment maintenance and tire repair.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situation where only limited standardization exists.
- Must be able to meet the physical demands of the work environment.
REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- HS diploma or GED.
