As a member of our maintenance department, this individual will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance activities related to production equipment / machinery and facility infrastructure, day to day repairs where needed and will also be assisting more experienced maintenance personnel with their duties, as needed.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

Perform general preventive maintenance requirements on machinery and equipment including, but not limited to, each of the following:

• Clean and lubricate machine parts such as shafts, pulleys, gears and bearings.
• Troubleshoot mechanical components of machinery.
• Remove dust, dirt, grease and waste material from machines.
• Paint machinery or equipment as necessary to prevent corrosion.
• Replace / clean air filters.
• General labor.
• Assist others in the maintenance department as needed with larger projects which may require operating equipment such as a forklift or scissor lift.
• Complete daily work records and activity reports.
• Participate in the safety and good housekeeping programs established by the Parrish Manufacturing Group.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and risk of electrical shock. The employee is frequently exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and extreme heat. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, outside weather conditions and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud from machinery noise.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma or equivalent, required.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to document daily processes to ensure we accurately capture information within our PM program. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to multi-task. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
