POSITION SUMMARY:

Under the supervision of the Facilities Director, maintenance/housekeeping personnel perform a wide variety of custodial and maintenance duties in order to provide a clean, orderly, and safe environment. May perform duties such as minor repairs, emergency calls for service, and works closely with other employees to meet maintenance needs in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1. Reports and responds to emergency calls for custodial assistance.

2. Performs various maintenance tasks including, but not limited to, installation and repair to fixtures, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC.

3. Operates power equipment such as hand and power tools.

4. Performs preventative maintenance in and around the facility.

5. Performs lawn care, snow removal and other general building/facility maintenance or repair projects as needed.

6. Ensures Y is attractive and clean by completing all duties listed on the daily schedule and maintains upkeep of assigned area and equipment. May perform wet and dust mopping, dusting, trash removal, recycling, window washing, vacuuming, and general cleaning.

7. Assists with other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director.

SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:

• Past maintenance experience preferred.
• Ability to read, interpret, and follow instructions, procedures, manuals, and other documents.
• Attention to detail in all areas.
• Understanding of equipment, cleaning chemicals, and their safe, efficient use.
• Ability to self-start and self-motivate.
