Machine Tool Builders
Nidec Minster Corporation, the largest manufacturer of material forming presses in the United States has openings for Machine Tool Builders (Apprentice). 2nd shift openings are paid a $3/hour shift differential on top of the base rate. 1st shift weekends openings work 12 hour days Fri-Sun, are paid 11.1% more to equal 40 hours of pay, and are paid a $3/hour shift differential on top of the base rate.
Machine Tool Builders will be working as part of a team, typically 2-4, building metal forming, automation and related equipment. Fully trained and competent Machine Tool Builders will have versatile skills and in-depth knowledge of:
- Mechanics
- Hydraulics
- Pneumatics
- Electronics
- Blue Print Reading
- Precision Measuring Instruments (Mics, calipers, etc.)
Communication skills are critical as well. Machine Tool Builders will interface on a regular basis with mechanical and electrical engineers, project managers, sales staff and customers while building Minster's "engineered to order" products. Careers that have the required foundational skills that are desirable are:
- Machinist
- Mechanic
- Auto Technician
- Maintenance Technician
Graduates from joint vocational schools and technical colleges with training in the mentioned disciplines would also have those same foundational skills.
