POSITION SUMMARY:
This role involves operating braiders, wardwells, and skivers to braid tubes before covering the hose.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to operate multiple machines, organize and coordinate them at the same time
Become familiar with different types of yarns and tube specifications
Set up machines as per the given specification sheets
Join tube lengths, lubricate machines and change yarn bobbins
Record readings of product dimensions after checking
Install and change jacket stock if required
Order yarn supply as and when needed
Develop and maintain a professional relationship with associates, internal and external customers
Follow safety guidelines, including the 5S+ safety practices and measures
OTHER FUNCTIONS:
Collaborate with the Natural High-Performance Team to identify improvement opportunities
Participate in project teams, star point teams and kaizen events as required
Participate in all training opportunities required to develop in the role
Perform basic troubleshooting, repair and preventative maintenance of machines
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REPORTING STRUCTURE/ SCOPE:
Directly report to Value Stream Team Leader
Work closely with other departments to address process and equipment-related issues
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The employee may be exposed to:
High noise levels from operating machines and equipment
Physical hazards from operating machines and moving reels
Exposure to nuisance fumes
Working in areas where safety equipment is necessary (steel toe shoes, eye protection, hearing protection, high visibility clothing)
Standing for extended periods of time, and performing activities such as walking, pushing, pulling, reaching, bending, turning, twisting, squatting, and lifting
Performing tasks requiring high manual dexterity under restrictive conditions
Working flexible hours and short notice for overtime
The employee may be required to follow other job-related instructions and to perform other job-related duties as requested, subject to all applicable state and federal laws.
